Soul Retrieval When a trauma occurs, part of who we are separates in order to survive the experience; in psychology, this is referred to as disassociation while in shamanic work, we call it ‘soul loss’. This can happen to anyone who has suffered a trauma such as incest, abuse, loss of a loved one, surgery, accident, illness or addiction. Soul loss can impact a person’s quality of life greatly, manifesting in the form of apathy, listlessness, feelings of emptiness, despair and even in physical illness. Soul Retrieval is a process by which the lost soul part is located, healed and brought back to the person. It then needs time to integrate into the individual, psychologically, emotionally and spiritually, returning the person to a place of wholeness, joy and well-being.

Although advanced or experienced journeyers may have the skills to do this on their own, it takes time to develop the level of competency required. It is suggested that anyone wishing to experience a Soul Retrieval do so under the guidance of an experienced Shamanic Practitioner. After a Soul Retrieval, the integration period can present emotional or spiritual challenges for the individual and to help smooth the transition, Satu offers counselling support.
